Flawless Performance
|Posted .I can't imagine a better media streamer, although I have to admit that this is my first dedicated streaming device. Plugged it into the back of my reciever, connected to my wifi, signed into my Netflix account and Spectrum's streaming app, and set a up a Roku account. All super simple. Everything is intuitive, from the interface to the remote functions. The remote works great and it was simple to pair to my TV. Now I just press the power button and on comes the TV and streamer. When it powers on, it looks just like my mother-in-law's Roku TV. Not a bad way to upgrade a really high quality TV that isn't "Smart." Although my TV is not 4K, I've noticed much better picture and audio quality from Netflix and my external hard drive. You can play your digital movie collection from your hard drive through the Roku streamer. It's super simple and comes out looking and sounding much better than when connected directly to my TV's USB connection. I have to mention again that the remote is fantastic. All-in-all, I'm really happy that I bought one. It's worth way more than what you pay simply because everything just works perfectly. I'm sick of buying products with flaws that I only wish were perfect. This one is.

Perfect streaming device

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5No need to to use the original tv remote. Once roku is connected, simply use the roku remote control for all operations (netflix, amazon prime, youtube and etc.). I would recommend the one with the earphones if you don’t want to bother anyone at night and the sound quality of the earphones are good.

Streaming at its best
|Posted .In my opinion, Roku makes the best and most open streaming players available. I have owned Roku players for almost a decade and they just keep getting better and better. The Roku Ultra 4 K is the most power Roku player I have ever owned. The addition of being able to turn your TV on and off and control the volume is a huge plus, and the addition of being able to plug headphones in is great too. I have used it on my phone app but it is nice not to have to use my phone sometimes. Being able to hard wire the player is wonderful, I have had no stuttering with the hard-wired connection. Streaming is smooth and as good as your TV can give. The remote finder is also a great addition for those times you just can not find the remote. The cost of the player far outweighs the money saved by cutting the cord. Highly recommended.

Streaming powerhouse.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5The roku ultra is a great streaming device for all your services (Netflix, hulu, vudu etc.) It puts out a great 4k picture and is very easy to set-up and very user friendly. Although the voice commands are a nice feature, it's a bit useless, for me that is, but kinda helpful.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5LOL, I'm using this Roku Ultra 4K - - - believe or not for a 15" Flat screen 1080p HD TV, because it's the only device that has the Xfinity Stream Beta App for Comcast Xfinity X1 customers - - - yes, it is overkill but its better than paying Comcast money every month to have a TV box for a tiny 15" HD TV, that I watch only for a small amount of time. - - - I have 3 Roku TV's and this Ultra so I know how awesome they are ;)

Vizio tv
|Posted .Great device for what I needed I'm able to get some local channels to watch my EAGLES. I didn't need a cable box in the basement so I bought this instead a lot of content to watch without having to pay for anything.

Great 4k streaming unit
|Posted .This unit starts up quickly, has a smooth OS, application and content loads faster than the regular roku unit. Voice recognition and volume controls on the side. The remote has a useful "find" feature that forces the remote to make a beeping sound.

Q: QuestionMy Roku-Ultra seems to go through batteries awfully fast. This even applies to the rechargeable batteries that I prefer to use. They typically work for a couple of viewings before needing to be recharged and it isn't long before they stop working
Asked by Harvey.
- A:Answer Try using different batteries. I dont hardly switch mine out. I have been using Amzon basic rechargeable batteries and love them, and went at least 4 months without changing them. The only issue we had is if are using the headphones with the remote, this will drain batteries.

Q: QuestionThe box says it controls the volume and power on the TV. When the headphones are plugged in does it stop controlling the TV volume and change the volume on the headphones? Thanks
Asked by Seed.
- A:Answer Yes, when the headphones are plugged in, the volume is controlled by the remote. Unfortunately if you use the headphones regularly, the electronics burn out and the headphone jack stops working.

Q: QuestionTwo questions, do you have to have a 4K TV for this to work & does the Xfinity app work on this model?
Asked by star87.
- A:Answer Yes - you need a 4K TV if you want to watch 4K - however it works fine with my old TV that is not 4K and I have a great picture on a Pioneer TV that is at least 5 years old. It was probably an over kill to get the 4K version, but I got it as a very good price. So, the answer to your question is no you don't need a 4K TV for this to work.

Q: QuestionWhat apps are loaded in Roku and can apps be added
Asked by Nick25.
- A:Answer Netflix, Hulu and the Roku channels are among the channels that are installed automatically. There are hundreds of apps (channels) that can be easily added to the device. Many are free streaming services. One of my favorite channels is Kanopy which is a streaming service partnered with your local library that has many quality movies and documentaries to stream, there is a limit of streams per month. ( 8 I believe ). Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Was in best buy in Orlando,FL, they had two of the 4661r units on the shelf by accident, tried to buy one, but they said the system will not let them sell the merchandise until Sunday the 7th. They apologized for getting me excited.

Q: QuestionI've heard this Roku Ultra gets really hot or warm and that it has issues with Vudu. Is that true? And will this work with a soundbar JBL 3.1?
Asked by Mikeadoo.
- A:Answer I’ve used this device with Vudu. No issues. You could run the soundbar through the TV itself. You’re not going to have enough outputs on the device to do otherwise.

Q: QuestionWill ROKU work using exfinity internet
Asked by Jim.
- A:Answer Yes, Roku works with Comcast/Xfinity internet or any internet that has decent download speeds. But, It works really great, if you have both Xfinity internet and Xfinity cable. If you have both Xfinity internet and Xfinity cable then you don't have to rent a cable box from Comcast for every TV in your house. Just get a Roku for every TV instead. I use my Roku (Streaming Stick+) with the Xfinity app, which you can download on to your Roku device. This works great, because with the app, you do not need to install each channel individually (i.e...ABC, Fox, NBC...etc..). The Xfinity app allows you to watch all the channels you are already paying for through Comcast/Xfinity. If you have the Xfinity DVR, you can also, watch all of your saved/recorded shows, as well. OnDemand is also accessible through the Xfinity app, so you can watch movies or TV shows that you have not recorded, whenever you want. The Xfinity app works very much like the Xfinity X1 Platform (if you have it), with a few differences. First, you can not use the voice search the same on the X1 Platform as with the Roku. For example, within the X1 Platform you can voice search a channel number. Roku does not allow this, so you have to scroll through the channels manually while in the Xfinity app. Another thing is, it takes a few more seconds to switch channels or load saved and OnDemand shows. That is just the nature of the beast, due to fact, it is all loading over your Wi-Fi. Not everyone's Wi-Fi is going to be the same, so loading times are going to vary. I would recommend purchasing the Roku devices that use the wireless AC band (if your wireless router or gateway supports it). These are faster than the other Roku devices, in terms of download speed. Currently, the only ones that support the wireless AC band are the Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Streaming Stick+, and the Roku Ultra. For me personally, I use the Xfinity app probably 95% of the time on my Roku. I have not had any issues with it so far.
