I've heard this Roku Ultra gets really hot or warm and that it has issues with Vudu. Is that true? And will this work with a soundbar JBL 3.1? null

I’ve used this device with Vudu. No issues. You could run the soundbar through the TV itself. You’re not going to have enough outputs on the device to do otherwise.

No heat issues with the 4 I own. Sound works if you have high quality, CURRENT HDMI cables which will connect to your JBL 3.1. Just verified that this is the connection to your JBL device.

I have mine in a media cabinet and it is sitting on my Tivo Roamio. It gets a little warm, but far from hot. I also have not experienced any problems with Vudu, or any of the other streaming services I have been using (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Sling, YouTube).
