• Yes that is how I did all of my vhs tapes. I later burned them to dvd and also loaded them to a thumb drive and external hard drive. It's easy!

• Once the video was played the image is placed in a temporary folder and can be copied to another device that is on the same local network. I have not tried to do that but it should be possible.
