It works with W10. I watched a VHS tape through my TV and it was fine but when I tried to capture the same video from the VCR to my PC, the reproduction was poor (even causing the video to change to B&W). Advice, if you do try the program and you're not satisfied, Best Buy will not refund since it is software. Good Luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your problem could also lie in your RCA cords. Are they making good connections?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will work as long as it can connect to video/audio cables (RCA). It simply connects and records what's being played. So its very compatible with everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this product works with most analog camcorders.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, in general on early part. The Sony DCR-TRV18 is a MiniDV camcorder featuring both digital (though standard definition SD) & analog inputs/outputs (which interchange modes). The Q. was a while ago but just to share helpful info. as many may still have these MiniDV type camcorders/tapes, + sold used elsewhere, I'd say MiniDV is better in quality than the analog composite even S-Video. In short, this Roxio software on the surface appears to be all analog based, although MiniDV camcorders with the analog outputs (+ likely low cost needed cable/adapter) can work with it. If you can make the FireWire connection happen (looks like the hardware with this product has nothing to do with that), this software needs to be verified that it can handle both that & the AVI file format + encode the MPEG-2 or 1 from the AVI (in order to make the DVD or Video CD). These cameras are tricky in being operated/maintenance upkeep, i.e. are highly sensitive to humidity & temperature conditions, running into tape transport/record/play errors; yet when functioning, transfer exceptionally well digitally via the IEEE 1394 (FireWire/I.Link) for both Video/Audio output (pretty much all are early 400 type not needing the 800 version of FireWire). Highly significant catch or trade-off, at least in comparison within the consumer world of HD camcorders, believe it or not, MiniDV though digital SD (not HD) will require a whopping 9 to 12 GBs of HDD space just to capture 60 min. of tape, + is done in real-time! (It's editing software that works with it more smoothly in the AVI yet DV-compressed file format, & upon exporting/rendering to MPEG-2 or 1 brings the file size way down.) You beyond need to have it on your computer but also the compatible OS + software & of course the cable for it to connect. Windows XP & Windows 7 OS I know handles it well; however if you want a cheaper software that will work minimally, I'd say Windows Movie Maker within OS Windows XP & few on up for the FireWire capture from camera feature. I've experienced some Roxio software handle this but verify the version like this one. It'd be great if Roxio would let you download a trial/demo version of similar here so you can test it out on your OS & computer beforehand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Suggest trying this hardware with different software. Sounds like your signal had some issues that this software could not adjust.
