“What is this “user supplied video cable” you need? Would have been nice to know that all you needed to use the software is not included. As far as I can tell, with my VCR I will need to use the composite video connector, not the S-video connector.”

I agree, they should have included the cable. But that said, the composite cable is not very expensive. I already had the cable that came with my VHS player, so I thought all players came with these cables. Also using the composite cable gives you a much longer reach than the adaptor/converter provides. Once you get it going, I believe you will be happy with your purchase.
