This model can be used ducted or ductless. We uses it ductless which consider a charcoal filter provided and rolling the blower toward the front.

You can go ductless. The unit comes set up to be outside vented so you must close the duct opening and reverse the fan rotation if you want togo dyctless. Read instructions - it is spelled out
