“We had this microwave installed today. We noticed that when we cut exhaust fan, it seems very loud. Is this normal? Also towards end of fan noise, it makes a scrapping noise of some kind. Is this normal? what can we do?”

Take the microwave down and pull the motor up. Assuming the microwave is unplugged, spin the squirrel (round) fan. It should be quiet. If it scrapes, you'll see the problem.
