Google ends auto-update support about 6 1/2 years after the first introduction of a model. So, from the moment Samsung first teased this model in the market, the clock started ticking. Probably a few more months until it actually appeared in BestBuy. The other question is "why is Samsung still manufacturing and shipping product that they KNOW will no longer get critical auto-updates after June 2021." There are other products out there that are earlier on the 6.5 year cycle. This model happens to be in the last 18 months of its cycle. Just factor that into your buying decision - if BestBuy dumps these on clearance (mega discount), it may be worth it for use an elementary or even high school student chromebook, with limited sensitive information being used on the device (i.e. cheap and disposable). But if you are using this for home, finance, work ... seek another product elsewhere, IMHO.
