• It will, I have a note 5 with the Otterbox case and it does charge it.

• Not sure, I know it charged with my otterbox symmetry case with no problems.

• I use thick protective cover with kick stand so distance from charger was a problem for weaker powered chargers. I would recommend you try it as thinner cover would be even closer to the charger.
