“Can the sound bar volume be adjusted without adjusting the volume of the TV, or better said can the Samsung TV volume be reduced close to zero while increasing / adjusting the sound bar volume?”

I hooked mine up with the optical cable and turned the TV speakers off. Most TV’s allow you to turn off the TV speakers in the menu.
