“Is the Liquid Container drawer really necessary to use liquid detergent? On pg 32 of the instruction manual it says to "insert the provided liquid container in the main wash compartment" in order to use liquid detergent. But I never received it!!”

My machine didn't come with the liquid detergent part either. I have been trying to get it from Samsung for 2 months! Did you ever get one and do you have the part number?

My washer did not come with the insert for liquid detergent, and I've studied the manual multiple times. It mentions both ways, it's unclear. I've called Samsung around 10? times and literally got a different answer each time. Sometimes I'm told it does require one, and I'm transferred to a different phone number for Samsung parts. Those people say they have no record of a part model number, nor was the original customer service people I spoke with ever able to give me a part number. Then, other times I called Samsung, the customer service agent emphatically told me that NO it does NOT need a separate insert in order to use liquid detergent. I love the machine, but feel very sad that it's now May 2020, and I always feel uneasy wondering if my nice new machine has a missing part and isn't cleaning correctly. I have a feeling none of us (Samsung customer service included!) will ever know!!
