Do you have to use a water filter? Our water is already filtered, and I would like to bypass using a water filter in the fridge. Is this possible, or does it require you to install a filter in order to use the in-door water dispenser? Thanks for your help!

You don't have to use the filter in the fridge. We hooked it up to our Culligan filtered water and it works. However, if you are installing your own water line to the fridge, Best Buy guys will not put it in for you. You'll have to do it yourself.

I wish I could fully answer this for you as I did install a filter. Each time I opened the filter valve to check on it water would leak under the crispers. I'm not sure if this would happen or not if you didn't have a filter installed.
