This refrigerator uses R134A refrigerant.

Regarding your concern, R-600a or R-134a is used as a refrigerant. Check the compressor label on the appliance's rear or the rating label inside the fridge to see which refrigerant is used for your refrigerator. If this product contains flammable gas (Refrigerant R-600a), contact your local authority regarding safe disposal of this product.

Hi John,

The RF23J9011SR uses R134A refrigerant. The RF32FMQDBSR which had originally used an alternate type of refrigerant in one of the compressors switched to using only R134A as of June 2014.
