It sure can, HUNNY12! On the display panel there is an icon that looks like a t-shirt with a plus sign. When this icon is lit up, the washer can be paused, and the lid opened to add or remove items. When you are finished, you will need to press the "Start" button again to resume the cycle. ^Jecca
