“Ice Make Issues I purchased this refrigerator (rs265tdrs) about 2 weeks ago and I have an issue with the ice maker. I find that even when I select "cubed ice" it will usually dispense quite a bit of crushed/chipped ice before actually dispensing the cubes. Sometimes it will dispense cubes and then start crushing it. The ice chips and pieces often jump out and land all over my kitchen floor, even when holding a cup completely to the back and top of the dispenser. Do all units do this or is there a chance I have a defective icemaker?”

We filnd that choosing crushed ice results in jamming the dispenser. It happened three times and then we decided to not use this feature anymore - cubed ice is fine.

Please try again later.It's not unusual for the RS265TDRS or other models to dispense a small amount of crushed ice even when cubed is selected, particularly if crushed ice had been selected previously. However, if yours is dispensing mostly crushed ice, it's possible that a build up of ice is preventing the door flap from opening or closing properly.
