My fridge hasn't had any issues that would require the use of the warranty. But I did purchase the warranty to hedge my bets.

The reason being that almost all of the new refrigerators are "closed system" and are very difficult to service. I had a 5 years old Frigidaire that the compressor started to failed. Most local company wouldn't fix a "closed system" and the one that were willing to repair it quoted me $800 - $1,200 for a new compressor. Also in the 5 years that I had the Frigidaire I had to replace the ice maker twice. The cost of replacing the icemakers were more than the cost of the extended warranty so I went I bought this Samsung refrigerator I also bought the 5 years extended warranty.

Please try again later.Although Best Buys Extended Warranty is now 3 years, not 5, we specifically asked them if at the end of the 3 years are we able to purchase another (3 year) extended warranty and we were told "Of course". Don't let the 3 years stop you from buying it, with the technology now days, extended warranties are worth the price.
