I haven't done that exact thing but I have a Philips BluRay player hooked up HDMI that plays CD's so it should work. Also if yours does not have HDMI output or you want to use RCA jacks there are those. The only downside to this unit is there is only one std HDMI input so if you want to stream from your PC you have to change HDMI cables. Otherwise it has great picture, I can't tell any difference to my old 4KUHD unit. Sound is pretty good @ 100 (max) but I may get sound bar later. You'll need that if you want to have a full room sound. There is a second HDMI connection manual calls "audio" "ARC" which I don't understand. I give it 4.9 for not having 2nd picture input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You could, I don’t know why you would want to. The speakers on the tv are not the best. These TVs use a sound bar or external sound source.
