Is the 5yr. protection plan worth getting? null

Yes most definitely. I had too use protection plan for 32" TV twice in a thirty month time frame before Best Buy chose to junk and replace rather than repair. The problem of not carrying a plan is (are) you prepared to chunk out plus $300 dollars for replacement if need is immediate. How long are you prepared to go without a TV, washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc.
