“Can this TV display 1080, 720, and 480, without losing potions of the video and without distorting the length to width of those resolutions? (I watch 480 DVDs, have a unit that displays in 720, etc). And can it connect to a stereo analog in?”

Those resolutions are well handled by the TV, they will upscale to fill the screen but the image does not degrade, or if it does it still looks better than it would expanded in a non-native solution
