A:AnswerHi Sarcom! Due to the high risk of potential leaks, Samsung washer doors are not reversible. However, Samsung dryer doors can be switched to open from whichever side a customer prefers. ^Jecca
A:AnswerI did not stack the washer and dryer. I have them side-side. So I don’t know if you can stack them. I did buy the pedestal but it is a pain to use. The hardware that came with it seems flimsy. My suggestion would let someone who installs this stuff all the time Place the washer on the pedestal. I’m sure it’s easy for them.
A:AnswerGreat question, BigmamaG! You can add or take out laundry items even after the wash has started, as long as the "Garment+" light is on. Pushing the START/PAUSE button unlocks the door, unless the water is too hot or if there is too much water in your washer. If you are able to unlock the door and wish to continue the wash cycle, close the door, and then press the START/PAUSE button. ^Jecca
A:AnswerGreat question, spinney! The rinse cycle on the washer is by default cold water. You can check out page 36 of the User Manual for details on what temperature settings can be used for different cycles. This link (https://bit.ly/2rXn21D) has an option to download the manual. ^Jecca
A:AnswerHi there Akosikhe! You can stack a dryer on top of this washer by using a compatible stacking kit. You can purchase stacking kits at SamsungParts.com or by calling our parts department at 1-800-627-4368. ^Jecca
A:AnswerThe lady at the store where I bought this washer said No to king size. I think it would fit but would not get it clean because the washer does not use very much water.
A:AnswerI was able to fit my base to the new washer because the bolt patern is the same. Remember to remove the feet on your washer abd bolt it to the new base. I would measure the distance between the feet to make sure they fit the bolt pattern on your base.
A:AnswerMeasure first to make sure both washer and dryer together will fit in the allocated space. Installed, this takes up a space about 28 to 29 inches wide, about 34 to 35 inches deep and about 40 inches high. That's a big washer. Spin cycle can be loud but vibration isn't bad. I've left folded clothes on top of the washer and they haven't shaken off. This is installed in the kitchen and I can hear it washing when I'm in the living room but it doesn't drown out other sounds. It had an unpleasant plastic/chemical odor for the first few loads (it did not stay on the clothes) but that was completely gone after about a dozen loads. I am very happy with it so far.
A:AnswerTypically, open-box items are goods returned by customers, inspected by the retailer, found to be in working order, and re-sold at a discount, rather than returned to the manufacturer.
A:AnswerSounds like a mildew problem. Front loading washers are notorious for it. Look it up online for some ways to combat it. Mostly what I've seen involve cleaning both sides of the plastic seal with bleach to kill the mildew and then to leave the door open so it air dries. Keeping it dry is supposed to prevent the mildew from having a place to live.
A:AnswerLike most front load washers, the door on the WF42H5000AW opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible, so it can open in the opposite direction to the washer when set up side by side, or in the same direction if the units are stacked.
Thanks for your interest,
Ms. Samsung
A:AnswerHello there,
We appreciate your question about when your washer was manufactured. The easiest way is to determine the date of manufacture of the Samsung washing machine according to the nameplate - an information sticker with brief information on the machine that you have.
Thank you for choosing Samsung. Have a great day.
