I had the mold on the rubber gasket problem with my first front loading washer - Kenmore 4tHe. I learned from that and now always wipe down the door and rubber gasket of this Samsung washer after every wash. I also keep the door ajar for at least a day after using it. I've had it for 7 months now and still no mold.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've owned this washer for five years, have left the main door and the detergent door open immediately after every use, right from the first day. The fact is, even if you run the recommended 4+ hour self-clean feature every couple of months, there's still a mold and mildew smell--unless you run an empty regular wash cycle with liquid bleach every couple of weeks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I always leave door open to allow inside to dry out before closing. This prevents any issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I noticed that if I do load after load and even leave the door open a bit (which is a struggle with our laundry room design) that when I wipe the interior gasket it has traced of mold. I was concerned about this but just wipe the inside once every couple days (less than a minute) and leave a rag in the door jam so it never shuts completely. I wouldn't trade it for a top loader for the minor hassle.
