“I purchased a front load Samsung washer model WF45T6000A in Dec. 2021. Why does the self clean cycle take over 3 hours to run and more importantly, how much water is used in this cycle. I am here in Calif. and they want us to conserve water!”

From my experience you are correct time wise. I think though the water use is not as significant as the time.
