Thanks for the question. The WA48H7400AW is actually a Top Load model. However, this and other Samsung HE Front and Top Load models are equipped with a self-clean cycle that helps to keep the drums (and gaskets in front loaders) free of bacteria that can lead to mold. Samsung's self-cleaning cycles don't even require the use of bleach or other harsh additives to accomplish this! - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! The front loader we had before buying this top loader had mold. This was due to the bad drain pump design. The wash/rinse water was pumped out, but could not be completely emptied. Once the mold started growing on the stagnant dirty water, it could not be eliminated. We even replaced the drain pump (which had been redesigned), but the moldiness stayed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had front/top loaders & have never experienced mold period. But you can get a product to clean it as you feel necessary if the thought of mold is on your mind.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No if you leave the lid up after use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not had any problems with mold at all. But I do leave the lid up until the inside is dry
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. They do not have as much of a problem as the front load but both will get mold if you do not leave the lids open to allow them to air out. I recommend that unless you only wash clothes once per week to just leave the lid open all the time. This will ensure that the inside is drying out and not getting moldy or smells.
