Of course you just add it directly in the washer before you close the door to begin your cycle.

I have done both. I put the oxyclean in the drum, add the clothes and put the detergent in the detergent compartment after pulling the liq cup holder out.

Of course you can add detergent and oxyclean to the drum. You just have to do so before the cycle starts, as the lid locks by default. if you want to add those after the cycle starts, you have to set the lid NOT to lock (if that's even possible) or add before it all starts.

I add my borax straight in the drum when loading.
