The dimensions are given in the Specifications tab: 39.3 wide by 24.4 high (without the stand). The screen for a 40" TV has to be 19.6" high without a frame, so you can't go for a 40" TV and be within 16 to 18" height. Minimum frame width is probably a bit over .5". So about the biggest set you can get would be about 32" where the screen alone is 15.7". You would need to wall mount it so you did not need a stand and find one with sound on the sides instead of bottom.
