I am looking at the quick guide, and it is showing an external hard drive. I think it depended on your hard drive power. This says usb hhd5 volt, 1amp.

It does have a USB inlet, but I'm not sure if it will power an external drive hard drive. Probably intended for a usb stick, but u can try.
