A:AnswerTV does not show ads for anything. This would be your network, cable or whatever provider. I get some ads on some cable stations. Although I don't use parental controls anymore as no kids at home anymore, live checked them out. TV has some good, easy to use controls . Each of my providers also has controls for each app. You can control network access via TV and control program or channel access via streaming or cable provider. Hope this helps

A:AnswerNo, Samsung has this locked down. You can only download the apps they have available in their SmartHub. I've found everything I needed there though, so don't feel as if I'm missing anything.
