Hi Jack - Wi-Fi can be disconnected in the TV's settings under Network Status > Disconnect. The SolarCell Remote uses IR for basic functions like Power On/Off, and Bluetooth for everything else once paired — including volume, navigation, and voice control. ~ Samsung Specialist
