It disables the standard image processing that the TV normally performs and allows the game itself to adjust the settings to provide the best picture for that game while bypassing different operations in the TV. When game mode is activated, one of the major changes is that the DNIe chip in the TV is bypassed. Bypassing that function disables the video processing of the TV, allowing for a faster video response time on the TV.
