“IR on connect box NOT how the remote works. IR uses line of sight. If the signal is coming from the front of the connect box then it would have to be placed in front of the blue ray player. If so then the blue ray player disk tray will not open. explain?”

Hi Confused, these devices will be controlled by HDMI-CEC protocol. It is called Anynet+ and controls other aspects of the TV and equipment. Anynet+ controls external devices that are connected to the TV via an HDMI cable. No IR repeater would be necessary. ^Val
