I initially picked up a 400 and took it back - not much better than the TV speakers. To me the 500 was worth the $100 difference. It wasn't night and day, but I was so disappointed with the 400 I guess the 500 is my "entry level" bar. Even the 500 won't blow you away if you are coming from, say, a theater room 7.1 setup like I was (to be fair, that whole system was probably $3000, vs $300 for a soundbar) and I just have to keep telling myself that. I just wrote a review on the 500 if you want more info.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I decided on more power and am happy I did. I figure we're making investments to the TV experience, so do it right. I'm happy with the 500 series and recommend it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I listened to both the 400 and 500 I ended going with the 500 and honestly it's worth it. The sound is so clear sports is amazing. But I also use it for house parties my family thinks I have some huge sound system. I tried the 400 but the 500 is just much clearer and the extra 20 watts makes a shuttle but noticeable difference depending on how loud you use it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd say the people who can't tell the difference between a 300 watt soundbar with powered subwoofer and the TV speakers are doing something wrong. But, as far as your concern, a 75" TV indicates a large viewing area. The 300w vs 320w isn't going to make much difference in filling that area with sound, but...if I'm not mistaken, the 320w system comes with a larger subwoofer than the 300w, and THAT can make a huge difference in a large area. I'd go with the larger subwoofer, which is worth the extra $100. Not only are you getting an extra 20 watts, you're getting a larger subwoofer for that extra 20w to drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 500 series has a better amp, which means a cleaner sound at higher volume levels. There are the same amount of HDMI inputs and outputs, but the 500 Series also has v.1.4, so it can pass-through 3-D signals, whereas the 400 Series cannot. The 500 Series also has a USB. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --Mr. S
