“I connected the digital audio out to an amplifier and to the ceiling speakers. I can listen to the TV on the ceiling speakers but even when I go to the sound setting and set on TV SPEAKER it still plays on the ceiling speakers. Is something wrong with it”

Hi Kim, when you connect via digital audio out, it is always on. You may consider keeping the amplifier off when you don't want the ceiling speakers running. You may also want to think about connecting via HDMI. ^Val
