“Okay. Just set this TV up, upgraded our directv to the new genie server which has some 4K channels. I clicked on one of them and it says my TV isn’t 4K compatible. I’m confused. Please help”

My set is 4K compatible and plays streamed 4k media. Looks like a DirectTV problem. That's one of the reasons I cut the cable.
