    GOOD TV FOR THE PRICE

I have been looking for a tv for a few weeks and had my brother help me do some research. I decided on this Samsung, which I purchased on 11/17/18, for different reasons. I have always liked Samsung products. The BF price was a good deal for me. I was excited to get the tv home and set it up. That excitement didn't last long when I learned, the tv does have Bixby built in it - however the remote that Samsung provides with the tv is not Bixby ready. There is no microphone in the remote and the remote isn't Bluetooth. I called Best Buy and spoke with the manager and he told me, that I would have to upgrade to the next tv that has Bixby on the remote. He did suggest getting a universal remote that has that feature on it, but he wasn't sure if it was going to work. This is more of a Samsung issue then a Best Buy one, however the 4 stars are for Best Buy not making it clear to it's customers that yes the tv has Bixby, but with the remote that comes with the tv, it wont work. Using the voice control was one of the main features I was looking forward to using. To me the picture of the tv is great, its crisp and the colors look great. I am not a tv savvy person, which is why I had my brother help me, but I think the tv looks great and I really like the picture. While watching a movie, I did notice I had to turn the tv volume up real high to get loud. I haven't had a chance to play with the volume, but plan on doing that in the next day or so.

I think I paid way to much. I paid $360 but it's a refurbished "Excellent Certified"" 2017 model. I also paid about $100 bucks for warranty, then had to spend another $50 because I wanted fire TV. I went in for the Toshiba 50" 4k fire TV brand new for $299, but after reading the reviews for it I'm kind of glad I didn't buy that, even though I have a 32" Toshiba fire TV that I LOVE. I'm glad I bought the 5yr geek squad warranty lol! On this Samsung NU6900, after reading the reviews....I am wondering if it has an actual 120 refresh rate, one reviewer said it did not, even though right on the box it states "120 refresh rate!" and he was very convincing. One selling point to me was the refresh rate! I certainly didn't realize this was a "base model" i thought because of the price being so close to the stores regular "new" price, and being refurbished....it was a more mid-range tv, I think they should've had it priced more like $299.99 at best, so If you're listening Best buy....I could use a bit of a refund. I'v had a very difficult time getting the look of the picture to my liking...where as on my 32" Toshiba it was great right out of the box! I would've thought for sure I wouldn't have had to jack with those settings on this TV...not much anyway! While I was trying to figure out how to download a mouse app to turn my remote into a mouse for use with some apps, it was so difficult I finally had to give up due to time spent, I'll have to work on that later! It only has 1 USB, 1 audio optical, 1 HDMI arc, 1 HDMI, 1 lan, and 1 antenna in ports! I had no idea at time of purchase, and would never have thought to ask how many HDMI ports it has...you'd think at minimum 2! And never considered Bluetooth but for a 4k, 55" tv...ya I would expect it If not for anything...for audio! I thought buying a 55" 4k HUD 1260 120 refresh rate tv, it would have everything I need, it doesn't! I have to go buy a splitter...i don't remember what all my son said I needed. I don't know if I want to keep this TV or not?? I really don't! I think the sales man definitely made it out to be much more than it actually is, and I'm sorry but I have always trusted best buy to be straight forward and not have to rely on typical sales tactics. Also, I couldn't do ANYTHING on this TV without first making a new Google account and putting in a credit card, I did NOT like that, I thought it was REDICULOUS! Finally, I was dealing with the settings on both the HDMI smart TV settings and the live TV settings and some how, the volume was gone......on each and every setting of the TV the volume was shown to be working with the little wave bars moving.....but still no sound, and it was NOT muted! All of a sudden, out of the blue the sound came back on! So I don't know if this was a glitch in the TV or if I somehow I hit a weird setting of some sort, but like I said, it was NOT muted anywhere. So there are my concerns and issues....I have not streamed a movie yet, will do that this weekend, and I haven't used a gaming machine or downloaded a game and tried that yet but will hopefully do that this weekend as well to see how this TV performs! I do have the 5yr geek squad warranty, that's one reason I shop best buy! If you have this TV I'm sure you share similar concerns. I don't know if I would recommend this to a friend or not....maybe if it was $299 or less, otherwise....no I don't think I would, get one with more HDMI ports and Bluetooth! I didn't know to ask.

    Good Picture, Not Smart

We were out to find a good TV for under $500 and originally went with the TCL Smart TV because it had stellar reviews and Roku built in, plus it was only $350. When we got that home we set it up and immediately became disappointed by the picture. It left a lot to be desired and we realized at that point that picture was more important to us than a TVs smart functionality. We returned that to Target and made our way to Best Buy to search for an alternative. We've had good luck with a smaller Samsung in our home and we are constantly comparing the picture on that TV to all our other TVs. We opted for this one at a great price, just $50 more than the TCL we went with. We do not regret our decision. The picture on this TV is great. Clear, sharp, vibrant and very similar to our other Samsung that we are always so impressed with. Apparently the refresh rate is 60 but we can't notice any issues when playing sports games. Cannot comment on the sound as we immediately connected to a soundbar. Unfortunately, the smart functionality on this TV is virtually useless. We stream via DirecTV Now and opening that app and navigating channels on the TV is a painful process. Navigating any menu on the TV is very slow and non-responsive. Not a big deal for us as we'll just continue plugging in our FireTV and not using Samsung's smart TV platform. If you are looking for a great TV at a low price with a great picture and don't need to rely on its smart functionality then look no further. If you are buying a TV for its smart tv features, you should probably keep looking.

Bought this set recently for just under $400. Since my last two “high end” HDTV's both developed problems within two years of owning them, I thought I'd try something cheaper this time around. In a nutshell ..... this down and dirty Samsung has a really nice picture. Accurate colors, good contrast, and a crisp picture. The simulated 120hz refresh rate does create a strong “soap opera” effect, like 3D, which can be uncomfortable so I set it to its native 60hz refresh. Menus are simple and inclusive, although the sound equalizer is only available in the Standard sound configuration. The sound on this set is okay for most situations, but can sound very muddy and muffled with some dialog. After trying everything, including switching from Bitstream to PCM, I finally ordered a soundbar. Again, it's not horrible, but my wife and I both are uncomfortable with its lack of high and midrange response. The rear facing speakers, standard on virtually all of these sets, are part of the problem. So, overall, this is a lot of TV for the money. Very nice picture quality, user friendly menu, and adequate inputs make for a true bargain. The sound quality is my only complaint ... but that's a very common complaint with many flat screen sets, so it is not unique to this inexpensive Samsung. Definitely worth the price, and I am happy with my purchase.

I have a 2017 Samsung 70" 4k Smart TV in the livingroom, and I give it 5 stars. That TV came with Samsung' One Remote. That is the best remote ever. This TV, which was purchased on Black Friday is a 2018 model, and was bought for the bedroom. The picture is great, looks good, Smart TV functions are great, has plenty of good features and customizable settings. Built-in speakers are good for what they are. However, I recommend a quality Samsung Soundbar to pair with it. I use the M550 with the 9000s rear speaker kit and it is excellent. Gaming on this tv is great, I use Xbox One S and it looks good. Refresh rate is a little slow, but for the price of this tv, I think it looks good. I really would give it a 5-star review based on the TV alone, not including price, and customer service, etc.. , but I absolutely hate the standard remote it came with. Hate it. Its a 2018 model and didn't come with the One Remote.. what a shame. I had bought a new One Remote to replace the piece of garbage standard remote, and should have done my research beforehand, because apparently this TV is not compatible with the One Remote. That is my number 1 biggest con or complaint about this TV, other than that it lacks some features that my 2017 model TV has in the settings. For a 55" TV under $500 this is the best possible option still.

In its price class the 6900 line of Samsung TVs are an excellent value. Samsung's HD to UHD upscaling and motion blur improvement are great. I am VERY happy with this TV. The following are highly recommended picture settings. I used them as an excellent starting point and tweaked them to my preference. Select Menu then Picture Some of the settings are in the basic picture settings, and some are in the Advanced Picture Setting. PICTURE SETTINGS Picture Mode: Natural or Movie Contrast: 45 Brightness: 1 Gamma: BT.1886: 0 Color: 27 Tint: R2 Sharpness: 0 Color Tone: Warm2 Backlight: 40 Film Mode: Auto2 Color Space Settings: Auto. All other settings should be set to "off" or zero "0", or remainat their default settings. These are very good starting point, experiment & you'll wind up with an exceptional picture.

I bought the TV for my bedroom because of the previous Samsung TV purchase earlier in the year and expected greatness again. The TV itself lives up to expectations however unlike the 58 inch I purchased in April for my living room this model only accommodates the base Hulu plan within its apps which is unfortunate because I subscribe to Hulu live and was so excited to be able to lay in bed and watch my favorite shows live. The only accommodation I can think of is that I’m going to have to put my fire stick back in the bedroom just for Hulu which is ridiculous when the app is installed in the list of available apps on the tv itself. This is a newer model, I have no idea why this is like this but I wouldn’t have bought this model had I known. Too much hassle to take back to store now though. So Samsung and Best Buy wins. Bottom line, great unless you are a Hulu live subscriber. If you are ok with accommodating with a Roku or fire stick, then still should be fine. But if you don’t want that inconvenience look into a different model.

This is a great TV for the sale pricing. After doing research and seeing what I actually needed for my Master Bedroom TV, I decided to purchase this Samsung 55" NU6900 4K UHD HDR Smart TV, especially due to the asking sale price. Are there better TV's on the market ...sure, but I wasn't expecting a $1,000 TV for $400. I decided to add a Samsung N450 Soundbar and a Samsung 8500S wireless rear speaker system to enhance the sound experience for my viewing pleasures. After some tweaking and picture adjustments (expert settings), along with ordering the newest/latest 4K DVR cable box (2160p60 4K UHD capabilities) from my cable company and adding quality HDMI cables, I finally have the picture on this TV looking as good or better than some of the more expensive TV's I have throughout my home, but it took some doing ...LOL. The colors and blacks are vibrant adding to a picture that looks great while viewing live sporting events, movies and regular TV, I'm happy with my newly purchased Samsung TV and my entire Samsung Entertainment System. Recommended.

Purchased Price: $379 (A week before Black Friday) Days owned: 1 month. I have to say, this TV has the best picture quality for it's price range, no, even better quality than what I paid. The modern TV shows and widgets like Netflix work really great with this 55" screen. The old shows don't adapt to the size of the screen so there is empty black space around it to keep the quality from getting grainy. I have not had any complaints about the screen/pixels itself, but the remote is still awkward. I know Samsung's remotes have always had the up, down, right, left, and okay/enter keys near the bottom of the remote, but it's just so awkward to hold. My ONLY complaint about this TV, is that the sound quality is not the greatest. The speakers are in the back which gets muffled by the wall. There is no sound that comes towards you as you sit in FRONT of the TV. You'll have to get external speakers to get good sound. Overall, I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking for clear pictures and is okay with investing in external surround sound.

Picture and sound quality are great. I have had no issues whatsoever with my couch roughly 12 feet away from the TV. Built-in apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Sling TV etc. have been awesome. It saves me the hassle of having to fire up my Ps3 to stream video content, and my Firestick now resides in the guest room. The free month of Sling also sold me on their service (live in a somewhat rural area, no cable providers available). I also bought a Chromecast to use with this TV, and it has worked flawlessly. It was a little bit of setup (as one should expect), but not complicated. I frequently cast from my phone or laptop to the TV. I'd give it 5 stars, but I think the user interface/remote controller are a bit slow and touchy at times. It normally clears up after a hard reset (which is pressing down the power button for 5 seconds or so), but it's the only downfall. Another small quality of life improvement would have been more HDMI ports, but that isn't worth a star to me.

So I bought this TV the day after Black Friday because I had an old dinasour TV from 09. To start off the TV had amazing picture and amazing capabilities. The crystal clear picture was amazing especially paired with the Xbox one! Also the smart apps that come included are amazing as well! Now unfortunately for the bad... when I got the TV up and running did all the updates and things needed to get the TV running. However the sound that comes from the TV is so atrocious. No matter what I put on all the voices in the TV sound muffled and just terrible! I tried messing with settings and adjusting things and nothing. Long story short if you’re going to buy this TV make sure to pair with a good sound bar setup because the regular TV sound is terrible!

Did research from Consumer Reports to the customer reviews on the top rated TVs according to well renown CR. When I saw this tv on display not knowing it was on my list, I fell in love with its crisp color, ginormous screen, and beautiful clarity I was in love! To find out it was one on my list made it crystal clear, this was the tv for me. This TV has NOT disappointed. The size of the television is on point!! The clarity and color are gorgeous! I get excited everytime I turn this tv on! Samsung makes it so easy to set up this tv. It’s seamless. The tv literally walked you though start up without any confusion. Easlily connected my Direct TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Hulu & Google Play accounts! Love it! Love it!! I did purchase the 5 year warranty just in case.

Purchased this tv on thanksgiving as a gift for my father in law. Pros: Very light. Easy to lift. Can be wall mounted or leg stand. Lega easu to snap in. Great picture - the colors are sharp and the black is deep and proper. Reduces glare even when the window facing tv is direct on. Brightness adjusts with the ambient light. Remote included is basic universal so you can control cable box and dvd player with it. True smart tv with app store! Pre loaded apps include youtube, vudu, netflix and hulu. Very easy to add more such as youtube tv Con: only two HDMI ports - this could be fixed with a switch but in this day amd age an HD TV should have 3-4 min hdmi ports. Athough not a true con, the power cable is really short, so depending on your setup you may need an extension cord. Overall very happy with it and recommend it based on ease of setup and quality.

I'd give this TV 5 stars but Samsung's software choices are always something to be desired. Their Smart View app doesn't work with newer TV's for some odd reason, only 2017 units & older. They want you download their Smart Things app and create yet another account. Tired of creating accounts for every device I buy. Would like OEM apps to just work on my own network with out having to sign in to anything! I think most people might agree too many accounts gets to be a pain. Not everyone has google or Facebook accounts to use for sign ins. Besides that, the TV is smooth operationally and has a sharp picture. I would be nice to get just a plain non-smart TV and just plug a Roku or Apple TV into it which has way more choices than you'll ever see in a smart TV. Which is what I do anyway. I avoid the "smart" part.

For the price range, this TV is absolutely fantastic. The picture is absolutely gorgeous, the menu options and remote control are thorough, and 4K looks excellent. I haven't been able to stop streaming 4K YouTube channels since I bought it. I've been gaming on anything from Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and PS4 (non Pro even) and everything has been smooth as silk and completely beautiful. The upscale 120hz from its native 60hz is very smooth. My only gripe is that I wish there were more than 2 HDMI cables and one USB port, but that's a minor issue. Some people have complaints about the onboard software, but I don't use any of that junk so I don't care. I use Apple TV 4K and my gaming consoles for everything streaming related (except for the TVs nice built-in 4K compatible YouTube app). Be careful with moving this TV as it is fairly flimsy once you get it out of the box. It's 55" and super light, so that's to be expected.

If you're looking for a cheap TV, then this is a TV you should get. However, the picture quality isn't all that great. I did research on this TV because whenever I play games or watch 4k movies, the motion rate does not look like 120 Hz. I found that Samsung's "Motion Rate" of 120 Hz is not 120 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate is actually 60 Hz. I quick google search on refresh rate vs motion rate can give you conversions of different TV brands. In conclusion, if you just want a cheap 55" TV, this is your go-to. However, for gaming, I don't recommend this. 60 Hz refresh rate is quite poor. There are better options out there.

The upscaling feature on this TV is impressive! I connected my computer to this TV with HDMI 2.0 played some Dirt Rally 2. I was playing at 1080p and the upscaling on the television did I great job! I thought I was playing at 1440p or rather my monitors native resolution. For reference I'm running a GTX 1080 graphics card. Additionally, I played Hitman 2 from my computer at 1440p and it looked fantastic. I sit roughly four feet away from my TV on a couch and being able to play at 1440p at a rock solid frame rate with upscaling to 4k is awesome. The difference between 1440p and 4k is expensive performance wise and the upscaling this TV provides closes that gap! I have better than 20/20 vision and the difference between 1440p and 4k is negligible on this TV with upscaling.

Bought my amazing picture Samsung NU6900 on BF for our bedroom. We were so impressed with the picture quality I hired BB to do a professional install with in wall wiring with the works. We barely used the TV for 3+ hours a night to watch movies in bed. Came home a few days ago and the TV won’t turn on and it has a solid red light on the bottom. I purchased the extended warranty so I called BB since we also have total tech support. Aprently the system board is fried! TV is on a high end surge protector my home even has built in surge protectors! I’m totally bummed BB will be out in a week to replace the system board. I’ve always purchased Sony TVs and this is my first Samsung and it died in 3 weeks under minimal use! Make sure you purchased the extended warranty if your buying this TV everyone!

We bought this Samsung on sale just before Black Friday. We only use streaming services to watch television, including live television on YouTube TV, and we were looking for an affordable SMART television with a crisp image and a screen that wouldn't feel small in our living room. We love this product. We can use all of our apps on it without a streaming device. Everything streams with no issues, including live sporting events. The best surprise was the included Samsung television channels on the home screen. I sometimes mean to turn on Netflix and end up watching hours of Bewitched on a service we aren't even paying for. It's fantastic! We both agree that the screen size is plenty big enough. Who needs to go into debt spending thousands on 4K and a giant screen when this excellent product is available for so much less? Not us.

TV arrived defective. One of the screwholes on the back had no threading and therefore the stand could not be screwed in securely. Also, issues with multiple applications not launching as well as the included TV Plus stations not loading. Best buy won’t do anything because the model is “no longer in their system”. Samsung won’t repair due to the replacement part being on backorder. Overall the picture quality is great and the sound is fairly decent (in a small room). Will probably require a soundbar for larger areas. Very dissappointed in the support i have been receiving as neither bestbuy or samsung seem to be doing anything.
