No calibration really needed. Out of the box, the image is crisp and clear. I found that the auto dimming function was a little dark for my taste so I had to bypass it (through the system menus) and correct it myself. If you are a professional projectionist using it as a confidence monitor for presentations, you might want to tweak it a bit anyway, but it's already pretty good.
