No, my opinion is that you do not need a sound bar for this tv. I am in no way an audiophile and some people are more picky than I am, but I think the speakers on this tv are great. After switching the audio to amplify I think it sounds very nice. I haven't watched a movie on this tv yet to really test the speakers but they have a lot of volume to them. My old tv had such terrible, weak speakers that we were forced to buy a sound bar just to enjoy tv. I own a sound bar and honestly I'm happy with either the tv sound or the sound bar sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV has reasonable sound, but we sometimes have the volume up to 10 on some shows (on a scale of 0-10, 10 being the loudest), so we have considered getting a soundbar as an additional sound source. We have a fairly large room that the TV is in - but overall I would say a soundbar would help. Good luck.

We bought a Samsung sound bar in a bundle offer with our 65" TV and it has made a huge difference. Speaking voices are now clear and easily understood. Background music stays in the back ground but music videos are awesome!
