Does this dryer need to be hooked up to water supply? null

Thanks for asking, curious! A water line will need to be installed in order to use any of the steam functions on this dryer. If no water line is connected, the non-steam functions will still be available. ^Jecca

It doesn't have to be hooked up to water but you lose the steaming functions if you don't

Yes, in order to use the steam feature, you can get a hot water supply tap connector to split the hot water to send it to the dryer to create the steam for the steam cycle.
