Will it charge with the phone case on? null

I have an S7 with an Otterbox Commuter case and it won't charge unless I take the outer shell off the phone.

We have an Otter case and I just lay the phone on the charger and the red lite goes on - depending how discharged the battery is it can take an hour or 1 1/2 to charge the Samsung s9 phone - it charges at 9 watts and is much faster than the 5 watt model we used to have good luck
