With this type of charging device, you place your phone on the unit and it easily charges your phone. I generally do this over-night, it easily charges reaching 100%. I cannot answer regarding the Samsung Galaxy A50. A Samsung or Best Buy representative could answer this quite easily for you. I have a Samsung Note 9 phone, and I like this method of charging. It is considerably more reliable and will hold a charge that lasts where other methods of charging seem to phase out more quickly. I find the typical single cord if you move your phone consistently seems to develop an exposed or twisted end which no longer will charge.. Obviously necessitating the purchase of more charging cords. Since buying this product I have not had to purchase any more of charging cords. This is worth its weight in gold. So to the Samsung developers I give a big thank you.
