“Does it have a removeable battery? I currently have a HTC Droid DNA and it has an internal battery (where I can not take it out unless I tear the phone apart). My brother has the Galaxy 4S and the back of the phone comes off for the battery. Is the S5 the same way as the S4?”

yes the battery is easily removeable on the s5 by taking off the back cover and popping out the rechargeable battery.
