• No. Unless you want to pay for office 365 . You can install office libre in linux partition but its hard to use it and feel content that you used Microsoft word. My advice, forget chromebook and you will get a better laptop for the same price.

• Google docs can convert them to a native format, and can generate MSOffice formats as well. You can also use MSOffice online.
