    • Answer If you have a phone number, you have the legal right to keep it, regardless of who your carrier is. Most of the time, this is free, but some companies may charge you a (small) fee. The phone is unlocked, so it SHOULD work with any U.S carrier, but I have heard of some people having trouble because their carrier did not accept a particular IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number--this is the number that proves ownership and rights. This is because not every carrier updates its IMEI records as often as it should.
