Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because Android 5.0 Lollipop is now available and Samsung has commited to making the Note 4 one of the first phones it pushes the updated OS to. It didn't make business sense to invest development time into an older OS. Android 4.4 is what was available at the point in time in the device development cycle when the OS was tested so that is what came stock.
