There is an option to recognize your face sooner and unlock the phone faster but it is less secure. I know iphone has a wonderful face recognition but lacks the fingerprint sensor. Personally it unlocks most of the time but a few times it doesn't seems to recognize my face. iPhone has a better face recognition for security than Samsung.
