You can find other places which will take that iphone off your hands in trade for the Galaxy Note 9. The iphone is more expensive. I just traded my iphone X for the note 9 unlocked for all providers. Best buy just has a different process and want to make more money.

That can only be seen at a BestBuy Store unfortunately. For example. I am Trading in my Note 8 for the Note 9. bestbuy website is offering $340 for Note 8 trade in. But since I Pre-ordered the Note 9 in BestBuy not only will I get my trade in value of $340 but BestBuy will give an extra $110 pre-order offer. Since you are trading in the Iphone X it will be the same as the Note 8 promotional price. So expect to pay $550 out of pocket for the Note 9
