“If I have a current Verizon account and I have paid off my current phone and just want to keep my phone number on a new phone purchased at Best Buy. How does that work? i understand I will pay Verizon for the phone but I want my same number”

Best Buy associates will port the number over for you at no additional charge

They will even transfer your data and apps from your old phone if you want them to. Quicker service than at the Verizon store, and you can walk away with a better deal on a phone, and the phone can be fully functional when you leave.
