It's always best to check with your carrier prior to buying ANY phone. I got this model (which Sprint does not sell in its own stores) at Best Buy mainly because of the memory and the ability to add a 1TB micro SD card. It allowed me to video the full memorial service for my dad as well as many other things. BTW, really good video and voice capture for said service including the trumpet player on the knoll playing "Taps" at least 50 yards from the service. The phone never got hot either with that long of video recording and the temps were well into the upper 80's.

Personally, I suggest buying one, heading straight over to Crickett, and jamming their SIM card in ASAP. But different areas have varying coverage. However, keep in mind, AT&T (Cricket) rules the school when it comes to tower infrastructure, and your data prioritization is most likely at worst going to be higher than most other carrier plans at their best that do nothing but mooch off the other cell towers. If you plan on being in a Verizon dominated area most of the time, yes it will work with Verizon.
