• Previous answer incorrect, this phone is both GSM and CDMA. I've been told by both BestBuy and Samsung (instore rep) that it is unlocked, however Verizon only unlocks on GSM not CDMA (not sure on that). • Verizon does not lock most devices (http://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy). However, you should check with your local carrier to ensure it uses the same radio technology as Verizon (CDMA). Most international carriers use GSM and this device is NOT compatible with GSM technology.
