I am wanting to preorder the S8 in order to get the VR. I would like to trade in my current phone and do in store pickup. I'm not available to pickup the phone on the day that it is available(April 21st). If I preorder it can I pick it up on a later date? null

Yes, Bestbuy will hold your phone for up to 8 days in-store.

You can preorder the phone and have it delivered to your home. You may get it a couple of days earlier than the release date through AT&T

Yes, you can preorder the phone, but you still have to wait until you receive the phone to get the VR Gear. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks after you register online. Once you receive your phone you need to go to www.samsungpromotions.com . If you preorder through AT&T you will receive your phone a couple of days before the actual release date. I just went through this whole ordeal. Ordering through AT&T is faster, and the insurance is bit cheaper. You will not receive the VR gear the same day you receive your phone. Hope this helps.
