The $400 off is the one that needs activation from major carriers like AT&T, T-MOBILE and others.

They dropped $200.00 off the regular price of the S8 version and $200.00 off the regular price of the S8+ as well. And this deal ONLY APPLIED to the UNLOCKED PHONES of Samsung's S8 editions!! It sounds to me like you bought a PROVIDER VERSION by Verizon, Sprint, etc. through Best Buy under a contract which is TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Why not simply get the UNLOCKED VERSION of this phone that can take almost ANY PROVIDER's SIM card VS. SIGNING A BLOOD CONTRACT with a MEGA WIRELESS PROVIDER and their built in annoying BLOAT WARE APPS customized to their company phones...LOL. You really got yourself a cheap deal at a expensive price. (Sad Face Emoji)...lol.
